A new tabloid report claims Christian Bale has become "miserable" after gaining a significant amount of weight for an upcoming movie role. The article says the actor's allegedly bad attitude was on display at this month's Toronto International Film Festival, but Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

The actor has packed on the pounds to play Dick Cheney in a biopic about the former vice president, but an article in the latest issue of OK! says the process has made him incredibly moody. According to the unreliable outlet, Bale almost walked out of a photo call while promoting his new film Hostiles at TIFF because the event didn't start on time.

A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "He was really crabby when he was asked to wait a few minutes and said he didn't have time for 'this nonsense.' He snapped at anyone who tried to talk to him and looked uncomfortable and really sweaty." The outlet's seemingly phony insider adds, "Honestly I don't know who in that state would want their photo taken anyway."

But Gossip Cop checked in with a source on the scene at TIFF, who exclusively assures us the tabloid's account of events simply "never happened." Bale never got testy with anyone at the festival, nor has he become bad-tempered due to gaining weight. Firstly, it was the method actor's personal choice to become out of shape for the role of the infamous politician. Additionally, Bale has undergone physical transformations for several roles in the past and was well-aware of what the process entailed before deciding to bulk up again.

Although it's true the actor threw a tantrum on a movie set several years ago, the tabloids have unfairly been trying to paint him as a cantankerous hothead ever since. Gossip Cop previously busted OK!'s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for publishing an absurd story alleging Bale instructed his assistant to kill a fan with a screwdriver. No such incident ever occurred and this latest report about the actor's supposed TIFF meltdown is equally untrue.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
