Christian Bale did not ask his assistant to kill a fan with screwdriver, despite an absurd published report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the crazy claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to Star, years ago Bale faxed his assistant, demanding the “elimination” of a fan. The tabloid claims the alleged former staffer of the actor once received a fax from Bale that read, “Better to be safe than sorry,” before suggesting to the employee, “A screwdriver thrust thru the eyeball into the brain prevents any screaming. Let me know how it goes.” The supposed staffer, for the record, did not commit murder.

More importantly, though, the American Pycho star never ever asked his former assistant to commit any acts of violence against anyone. The entire story is a complete fabrication. When Gossip Cop reached out to Bale’s rep, we were categorically told the murder-by-screwdriver allegation was 100 percent “not true,” and even informed that the actor only once briefly had an assistant.

Of course, Star has a history of getting things wrong about Bale. A few years ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid when it falsely alleged that he “pawed” a woman at a SAG Awards after-party thrown by the Weinstein Company. As we noted, not only wasn’t Bale at that party, but at the same time the bash was happening, the actor was actually out to dinner with his devoted wife Sandra Blazic.
