Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have openly talked about wanting to have a second baby, but it has nothing to do with saving their marriage. Gossip Cop can bust this claim, which comes from the tabloids.
The new edition of In Touch features the headline, "Chrissy & John: A Baby To Save Their Marriage." The article was sparked by Teigen recently saying in an interview that she and Legend will soon try to have their second child via IVF. Taking that nugget of truth, the tabloid has crafted what appears to be a false narrative for the sake of sensationalizing something that isn't the least bit scandalous. Alleging the couple has been "having marital issues lately," a so-called "insider" claims Teigen is hoping a new baby "will keep her and John together."
"It should give them a huge reason to make their marriage work," asserts the supposed source. The gossip magazine goes on to repeat its contention from last month that "constant fighting," as well as Teigen's struggle with postpartum depression, have "taken a toll on her marriage to John." "Things are so bad that the pair completed at least six months of marriage counseling," alleges the outlet, as if going to therapy automatically means the relationship is in dire straits.
The publication further claims, "Some friends fear that a baby is the last thing Chrissy and John need right now." Adds the purported tipster, "[The baby] will just be a Band-Aid. They'll need to do a lot more work on their marriage if it's going to last." But for all this article contains, it's missing something very important. After the tabloid falsely claimed just weeks ago that Teigen and Legend were on the "verge of splitting," the model herself posted on Instagram, "Oh in touch go [expletive] yourselves, you exclusively dumb pieces of trash."
In other words, there was no merit to the story, just as Gossip Cop said at the time. There's still no merit now that the magazine is essentially repeating those debunked claims with the additional assertions that these supposed marital woes are the reason the couple wants to have a second child. In actuality, Teigen and Legend want to give Luna a sibling and want to add more joy to all their lives by welcoming another kid. They're both very common desires, but normal doesn't sell magazines or attract readers. It's a shame In Touch tried to change that with its fictional storyline.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
