Chris Stapleton made his “The Voice” debut on Tuesday, performing “Either Way” on the season finale. Watch the video below!

“Either Way” is the lead single off From A Room: Volume 1, the first half of a two-part record. The song was released earlier this month, as was the album. The second volume is tentatively slated to drop later this year. So far, Stapleton has had success with both the record and the song.

From A Room: Volume 1 hit number one on the Top Country Albums chart, and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, “Either Way” has ranked 17th and 26th on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay lists, respectively. Now with his first television performance of the song on “The Voice,” it’s likely to climb the charts. Interestingly, while Stapleton co-wrote the track, it was first recorded by another country icon, Lee Ann Womack, who released it on an album back in 2008.

Why did it take so long for Stapleton to share his own recording? Well, for years the musician was best known in the industry for penning hits for other stars. He broke out as a performer in his own right with the 2015 album Traveller. The critically-acclaimed collection won Best Country Album at the 2016 Grammys, along with a slew of honors at other award shows. Most recently, Traveller was named Best Country Album at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday.

And while this is now his first time performing on “The Voice,” it is not the first time his music has been heard on the NBC competition. Finalist Jesse Larson sang Stapleton’s hit “Tennessee Whiskey” just last week for the Instant Save, which led to his spot in the finals. And on part one of the finale on Monday, Larson sang a new Stapleton song called “Woman.” Check out that video below, and stay tuned for the “Either Way” performance.
