Chris Stapleton Saturday Night Live

Chris Stapleton sang “Hard Livin'” on this week’s “SNL.” Earlier, Stapleton performed “Midnight Train To Memphis” on “Saturday Night Live.” Check out the video below of the country star singing “Hard Livin'” with Sturgill Simpson on the comedy sketch show.

As Gossip Cop previously noted, this is Stapleton’s second time appearing on “Saturday Night Live.” Two years ago, he sang “Parachute” and “Nobody To Blame.” This marks, however, the fist time Stapleton has played “Hard Livin'” on live TV. He released the audio for the song about six weeks ago, and to date it’s been listened to close to 850,000 times on YouTube.

This is a particularly big week for Stapleton. The country music star is not only on “SNL,” but also on Sunday he’s set to perform at the Grammys. Additionally, his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, “Say Something,” came out on Thursday.

The video, which was also released, features the two musicians in the iconic Bradbury Building in L.A., singing as they walk the open hallways and go up and down its gated elevators. As they perform the song, more than 15 other musicians and 60 choir members can be seen throughout the building’s vaulting atrium with exposed staircases and hallways. At a certain point, Stapleton and Timberlake meet up and jam on their guitars as they belt out the song on the building’s bottom floor. They then continue playing as they walk through a hallway and up another stairwell.

Even though the song came out just two days ago, the music video has been viewed more than 6 million times. And while Stapleton tweeted out the music video for “Say Something,” bizarrely he didn’t say anything on social media about hosting “Saturday Night Live” until just a few hours before the show to let fans know Sturgill Simpson would be joining him.

As noted above, after performing on “SNL,” Stapleton will hit the Grammys stage at Madison Square Garden. He’s also up for three awards during the ceremony. Stapleton’s been nominated for Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Song and Best Country Album. In the last category, he’s vying against Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, and Thomas Rhett.
