Chris Pratt is NOT demanding $20 million for a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to OK!, the actor is looking for a major salary bump before he’ll sign on for another film in the superhero franchise. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “He was a relative unknown when he did the first movie, and he barely cleared a million for it. Now he’s playing hardball and wants to crack $20 million for the third installment.”

The outlet’s dubious insider adds, “He’s still stinging from earning $8 million less than Jennifer Lawrence for Passengers. Chris is well liked, but that could change if he asks for ridiculous sums of money.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a trustworthy source close to the situation, and we’re exclusively assured that the actor isn’t demanding $20 million for another Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, and the claim otherwise is simply “not true.”

Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the tabloid’s phony story. Gossip Cop previously corrected OK! for falsely claiming Pratt and Anna Faris’ marriage was in trouble. Gossip Cop also called out the magazine’s sister publication, Star, for alleging Pratt had become a jerk following the success of Jurassic World. There was no truth to either of those reports, and the same goes for this latest one.
