A report alleging Chris Pratt is “struggling with moving out” after his split from Anna Faris was made up by HollywoodLife. Though the estranged spouses have asked for privacy, the webloid is continuing to exploit their separation.
It’s been less than two weeks since Faris and Pratt announced their breakup, and Gossip Cop has already called out HollywoodLies six times for publishing misleading, disingenuous and often outright fabricated articles about the former couple, such as one claiming Pratt is “swearing off dating.” The site doesn’t care about accuracy and legitimacy. It cares about capitalizing on one of the month’s biggest celebrity news stories. So over and over the webloid has pretended to have “exclusive” insight on what’s going on.
This latest piece is headlined, “Chris Pratt Struggling With Moving Out Of Family Home After Anna Faris Split: It’s Just ‘Too Painful.'” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Since the announcement of his split with Anna, Chris has really thrown himself into his career. He is so focused on filming that he has not even had a chance to move out of the family home.” That isn’t really inside knowledge. It’s more like common knowledge. It’s no secret that Pratt has spent the summer shooting and fulfilling professional obligations, like attending last Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.
So, what else does this supposed “insider” have? “Chris is dragging his feet with moving out of the house, he is in no hurry. He has a lot of sentimental attachment to the home and the thought of packing his stuff to leave is too painful for him to do right now,” claims the outlet’s purported tipster. But this is also fairly obvious. Most people form emotional attachments to their homes and most people would say it’s painful to pack up after a breakup, especially when a child is involved. It’s almost as if HollywoodLies thinks it won’t be caught if it runs generic, non-inflammatory claims. That’s not the case.
In their joint statement, Faris and Pratt said, “Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.” Yet this online publication wants readers to believe it has “sources” and “insiders” repeatedly spilling about what’s going on with things as personal as Pratt moving out of the family home. Rather than respecting their request for privacy, the webloid is continually violating it by passing off inauthentic stories like this one. Frankly, it doesn’t matter whether Pratt has moved out or not. It’s no one’s business. The point is HollywoodLies is making up stories about it because the site wants clicks. It’s shameful.
