Is Garth Brooks really singing at Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger‘s wedding? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the story and we’ve learned the truth.
Last month, the actor joined the country musician on stage for a surprise performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. According to the National Enquirer, Pratt has now asked Brooks to perform at his upcoming nuptials. “Garth loves Chris and is happy to sing as his wedding gift to him and his bride,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “The two will tie the knot in a winter wedding, and although few details have been finalized, they know they’ll have the best singer ever!”
The tabloid hides behind an anonymous and untraceable “insider” to sell its phony story, but Gossip Cop checked in with Brooks’ spokesperson, who tells us on the record it’s “not true.” Despite what the outlet’s unidentified “source” claims, a rep for the country star confirms he hasn’t been asked to perform at Pratt’s wedding.
It’s worth noting, People magazine reported earlier this week that Pratt and Schwarzenegger are planning a “very intimate affair with just their closest loved ones.” The reliable publication further noted that the couple doesn’t want their wedding “to be a circus.” Simply put, it doesn’t appear the two are eager to have major a country music star rocking out at the ceremony.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the outlet’s bogus report. The tabloids have proven to have very little insight into the couple’s relationship. Back in December, Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer‘s sister publication, OK!, for wrongly reporting that Pratt and Schwarzenegger were secretly engaged and expecting a baby. The actor didn’t propose until several months later and the lifestyle blogger isn’t pregnant.
Shortly after that, the same outlet falsely claimed Schwarzenegger’s famous dad, Arnold, wasn’t happy about Pratt dating his daughter. The tabloid maintained Pratt eventually managed to win over his fiancee’s dad, but the two initially had a frosty relationship. In reality, the Terminator star immediately got along with his future son-in-law.
And in February, the Enquirer‘s other sister outlet, RadarOnline, made up a story about Pratt and Schwarzenegger feuding with his ex-wife Anna Faris, who was supposedly upset about them tying the knot. The actress herself, however, has stated multiple times that she’s happy for the soon-to-be-married couple. This latest article about Brooks serving as the couple’s wedding singer is just more tabloid fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
