One of this week's tabloids claims Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't initially happy about Chris Pratt dating his daughter Katherine, but the actor managed to win him over. Gossip Cop can debunk the made-up story. It's simply not accurate.
Pratt popped the question to his fiancee after just seven months of dating, but according to OK!, her famous dad wasn't a fan of the Jurassic World star in the early stages of their relationship. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Arnold wasn't crazy about Katherine dating an actor — he knows the Hollywood scene all too well and how hard it is on a marriage. Chris understood that he just wants the best for Katherine and reassured him that he has nothing but good intentions. They talked it out and melted the ice."
The magazine's premise simply isn't true. Back in November, Pratt was spotted spending time with Katherine's dad for the first time. The actor and his then-girlfriend met up with Arnold and his girlfriend Heather Milligan for breakfast in Los Angeles. People magazine, a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than OK!, noted at the time, "Arnold seemed happy that Chris and Katherine joined him. Arnold seemed very pleased to spend time with Chris. It was obvious that they got along and enjoyed getting to know each other."
It's worth noting, Arnold was fan of Pratt's years before the actor started dating his daughter. Back in June 2015, the Twitter account for "The Late Late Show with James Corden" shared a photo of the autograph wall located backstage. The image showed that Pratt had signed his name next to his future father-in-law, and added, "Right next to friggin' Arnold!" The Terminator star later retweeted the snapshot and wrote, "I'm right next to friggin' CHRIS PRATT." He then congratulated the actor on "the monster opening weekend" for Jurassic World, adding, "You deserve it."
In addition to all of the evidence disproving the magazine's article, Gossip Cop is also told by a source close to the situation that it's completely untrue. Unfortunately, we're not surprised by OK!'s phony story. We busted the magazine in mid-December for wrongly reporting that Pratt and Katherine were already engaged and she was pregnant with his baby. The actor didn't propose until the following month, and they're not expecting a child together. Shortly before that, Gossip Cop called out the publication for falsely claiming Pratt was getting back together with Anna Faris. The tabloid simply has no insight into the actor's personal life.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
