Is Chris Martin walking Gwyneth Paltrow down the aisle? A report claims the actress wants her ex-husband to give her away at the wedding to her new husband. Gossip Cop looked into the story and we can now exclusively debunk it.
The article in question is featured in OK! Australia, under the headline, "Gwyn Begs Chris... 'Walk Me Down The Aisle!'" In the wake of Paltrow and Martin vacationing with their kids over the holidays, the tabloid alleges she "might have had an ulterior motive when she invited her ex-hubby on vacation." The gossip magazine asserts Paltrow "wants the Coldplay frontman to walk her down the aisle when she marries fiance Brad Falchuk."
"With Gwyneth's father having passed away in 2002, she can't think of anyone else she'd want more than Chris to walk her down the aisle," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying. But, contends the outlet, "Pals fear the Goop founder may finally have taken her vision of 'conscious uncoupling' to a [bad] level." The supposed source maintains, "Some of Gwyneth's pals feel as though she's pushing things too far. Brad is a very agreeable guy, but even he can feel awkward about the fact that Chris is always around."
Of course, that's a bit of an exaggeration. Martin isn't "always around." He has his own home and spent much of the last two years on Coldplay's "A Head Full Of Dreams Tour," which ran from March 2016 through November 2017. He sees his kids whenever possible, though, and it's because he and Paltrow are committed to co-parenting that they jointly took the children on a holiday trip.
And while the publication insists Falchuk feels "awkward" when Martin does spend time with them, the two men are actually smiling in a November photo Paltrow shared on Instagram. Bizarrely, OK! features the snapshot with its story, even though it seems to go against what's being claimed. In any case, Gossip Cop still checked in with a rep for the Oscar winner, who tells us the claim she intends to have Martin walk her down the aisle is complete "bull."
It's also important to note that whenever and however Paltrow and Falchuk tie the knot, it won't be an Aussie gossip publication breaking any of the details. Paltrow only just confirmed her engagement earlier this month and did so through her Goop magazine. Those close to her aren't leaking information to a tabloid Down Under.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
