A tabloid claims Liam Hemsworth's split from Miley Cyrus has served as a "wake-up call" to his older brother Chris that he needs to save his own marriage to Elsa Pataky. Nothing about the story is true. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to OK!, the Thor star got a reality check after watching his younger brother's marriage crumble a few months ago. An alleged insider tells the outlet that Chris came to the conclusion that he needs to take a break from work and be more present for his wife and their three kids. "Until recently, Chris' busy schedule meant Elsa was left to do everything, which drove her crazy," says the questionable source. "Now they split parenting duties equally."
The seemingly phony tipster adds, "In the past, it seemed Chris and Elsa were always butting heads over something, but after Liam's horrendous experience, they realized what they have is precious. Chris' extra gratitude and attention is obviously working - they're closer than ever."
The tabloid is just arbitrarily linking Chris to his younger brother's high-profile split, which has no bearing on his own marriage. The outlet's report makes little sense and doesn't add up time wise. Back in June, Chris said he'd be taking time off from work to be at home with his wife and kids. Liam and Cyrus didn't split until August. Meanwhile, Chris' younger brother doesn't share any children with his ex, so it's unclear how the tabloid can equate the brothers' respective relationships.
Here's what's really happening: OK! is taking comments that Chris made back in June and using them to create a fake narrative in the wake of his brother's split from Cyrus. The Avengers star isn't taking time off to save his marriage, and his decision to do so came prior to his brother's divorce. Chris explained in the interview that his kids are getting to an age where "they are aware when I leave more than before," so he wants to be around for them.
At the same time, OK! is also trying to save face after previously insisting that Chris and his wife were headed for a split. In October 2018, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Pataky was tired of Chris putting work before their family. In October 2017, the magazine wrongly reported Chris and Pataky were having a "marriage crisis" over his supposed refusal to cut back on work.
Juggling a career and a family is a difficult balancing act for many stars, but Chris has managed the pressure and his marriage was never in jeopardy. Not only is the tabloid being misleading by saying that the actor "saved" his marriage, but it's using his younger brother's own split as inspiration. The entire narrative is just baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
