Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are not in the midst of a “marriage crisis,” despite an inaccurate tabloid report alleging the spouses of nearly seven years are headed for a split. Gossip Cop looked into the supposed marital drama and we can exclusively set the record straight.
According to an article in the latest issue of OK!, there’s tension in the couple’s relationship as they fight over their family and careers. A so-called “source” tells the magazine Pataky is upset by her husband’s refusal to cut back on work so he can spend more time with her and their three kids in Australia. “Elsa is tired of playing second fiddle to her husband, especially considering the sacrifices she’s made in her career to build a family,” says the questionable insider.
The magazine dubious source goes on to say Pataky also wants Hemsworth to slow down his career so she can pursue more roles herself, adding, “She doesn’t want Chris to miss out on experiences while the kids are growing up, and also wants her chance to properly get back into the acting game.” The “insider” continues, “She was a huge star in Spain prior to settling down with Chris, and she would love to return to do more work there and bring her profile back up.”
But the untrustworthy tabloid fails to mention that the spouses recently worked together in the upcoming war drama, Horse Soldiers, in which they play husband and wife. Clearly, the couple has been able to find the balance between their family and careers if they’re collaborating professionally while also raising young kids. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us the outlet’s story is simply “not true.”
In fact, it seems OK! was inspired to concoct this bogus report based on comments Hemsworth made in a recent interview with GQ Australia. The actor admitted to the magazine that he and his wife have struggled in the past with balancing their home and work lives, but said the two have since figured it out. Hemsworth even acknowledged that his wife has given up opportunities to raise their kids, and that she’d also like him to be home more, but the tabloid’s contention that these issues are threatening to ruin their marriage is completely false.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
