A new report claims Chris Hemsworth didn't invite wife Elsa Pataky to the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War because they're having marriage problems. This premise, however, is completely false. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

Pataky didn't accompany her husband to the Los Angeles premiere of his new superhero movie last month, and instead stayed home in Australia with their young children. Following the red carpet event, the actress jokingly said in an Instagram video, "Hey, Chris. You forgot me in Australia! Thanks for that."

Pataky was clearly kidding about being left behind, but the latest issue of NW insists the actress's Instagram quip was "passive aggressive" and not really a joke. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Elsa might have tried to act like she was joking, but she definitely wasn't. Friends say the tension between them has finally boiled over."

The outlet's questionable source further contends the spouses of seven years are "on thin ice" as Pataky has "admitted to friends she feels resentful being left behind all the time and not being invited to things." This narrative is completely untrue. The reason Pataky didn't attend the Avengers: Infinity War premiere is because she was in Australia shooting the upcoming Netflix show "Tidelands."

Also, Hemsworth himself explained his wife's absence during a red carpet interview with "Extra," noting she was home working and looking after their kids. He lovingly added, "She's the real superhero in our family." The actor obviously invited his wife to the premiere, but family and work obligations got in the way.

The publication's additional claims about the couple being headed for a split are equally untrue. Earlier this week, Pataky posted an Instagram photo of Hemsworth carrying one of their children, along with the hashtag, "#bestpapaever."

Meanwhile, Pataky shared another image on Monday of herself holding a toy Thor hammer and an Avengers tote bag, along with the caption, "To celebrate the success of his new movie my husband decided to splash out and buy me some really expensive gifts. You are the best honey." Of course, this was also a joke, but Gossip Cop wouldn't be surprised if NW claimed the actress was truly upset about Hemsworth giving her cheap Avengers-themed presents.

In addition to all of the evidence indicating the tabloid's story isn't true, a mutual pal of ours and Hemsworth tells us on background that the actor and his wife aren't having marital trouble. Gossip Cop is further assured Pataky wasn't actually mad at her husband because she had to miss the Avengers: Infinity War premiere, and her Instagram video was indeed a joke.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
