The Voice Winner Season 12

“The Voice” has a new winner! On Tuesday’s finale, it was announced which artist won season 12. Get the full results below!

As Gossip Cop reported, this cycle of “The Voice” began airing in February. Over the last few months, coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani built up their teams and then narrowed them down. The Live Playoffs started in April, at which point America had the voting power to decide who would stay in the NBC competition.

Last week, the Top 8 became the Top 4 in a brutal elimination that sent half the contestants home as part of the semifinals. The four finalists — Jesse Larson (Team Adam), Aliyah Moulden (Team Blake), Lauren Duski (Team Blake) and Chris Blue (Team Alicia) — then competed in part one of the finale on Monday. Over the course of two hours, each contestant gave three performances, including a new cover, a coach duet, and an original song that would be the winner’s first official single.

All of the original song recordings ranked in the top 10 on iTunes when voting closed midday Tuesday, as did Duski and Blue’s cover performances. And they not only got the iTunes bonus multiplier for that, but also added to the vote total was any past bonuses for songs that charted in the top 10 over the last few weeks. With that in mind, it seemed the results would come down to Duski and Blue. But Moulden couldn’t be counted out with Shelton as her coach, nor could dark horse Larson.

Though part two of the finale was two hours, host Carson Daly didn’t get down to business until there were mere minutes left in the broadcast. He first revealed Larson landed in fourth place, while Moulden finished in third. As predicted, that left Duski and Blue in the running. And BLUE WON! Daly actually shared it was one of the closest margins in the show’s history.

As “The Voice” winner, Blue follows Sundance Head (season 11), Alisan Porter (season 10), Jordan Smith (season 9), and Sawyer Fredericks (season 8). This is Keys’ first win as a coach on “The Voice.” As Gossip Cop has reported, she joined the reality show for season 11 last fall, and placed third with contestant We McDonald. Keys is now the second female coach to win “The Voice,” following Christina Aguilera with Porter.

For Shelton, this is his seventh time with an artist ranking second (Duski) and his third time with one placing third (Moulden). For Levine, this is his fourth time with a competitor finishing fourth (Larson). Watch video of Blue’s winning moment below!
