Is Cher concerned Chaz Bono will die from his weight issues? That’s the claim from one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can reveal the truth.

According to the National Enquirer, Bono’s “mammoth weight swings, endless overindulgences and gender reassignment medications are killing him,” leaving a “fearful” Cher concerned over his poor health. A so-called “source” tells the often disproven publication, “Between his transitioning and uncontrollable eating, Chaz has put his body through hell.” His mom, however, “feels he can’t go on like this,” and allegedly “begged Chaz to diet to save his life.”

In addition to a number of medical opinions on Bono’s case, the supermarket tabloid goes on to purport that the iconic singer “never understood” Bono’s “self-destructive” behavior. “She’s always been critical of Chaz, and has no intention of stopping now,” concludes the tipster.

But Gossip Cop investigated into the outlet’s latest report, and a rep for Cher assures us that the star is “not worried because Chaz is in fine health” and that there are “no weight issues.” What’s more, to lead its readers into believing the outlet has genuine sources, the publication quotes so-called “medical professionals,” but they’re clearly unaware of Bono’s situation and have never examined him. As expected, the entirety of the Enquirer’s report is 100 percent false, and not to mention mean-spirited.

Naturally, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has busted the magazine over its sensational stories about the singer’s son. In August, we corrected the tabloid for falsely alleging Cher was withholding money from Bono. In the article, the magazine wrongly claimed Cher was “disgusted” with Bono’s weight gain and lack of control, and would keep his “monthly allowance” until he lost weight. But, much like that inaccurate and frankly ridiculous story, this latest spin is equally bogus, and must not be believed.
