Chelsea Clinton spoke about the Kathy Griffin controversy and her mom Hillary Clinton on “The View” on Wednesday. Watch the video below.

As soon as Clinton joined the co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg noted she was among the first to condemn Griffin’s Donald Trump beheading photo. Clinton now said, “I hope that we are in a place as a country where we at least can agree on that. I hope we can at least agree that it’s never funny to joke about violence toward anyone, and particularly in this politically-charged moment, toward our president.”

Asked how she aided her mom Hillary in the wake of the presidential election, the former First Daughter said, “We spent a lot of time with my children.” The “blessing,” she said, is that Hillary and Bill now have a lot more free time to spend with the family.”

Clinton seemed put-off when Jedediah Bila said her mother hasn’t taken enough responsibility for her election loss, and remarked in response, “Lots of questions in there. My mother has talked about this herself.” Of Hillary now, Clinton went on, “She’s proud of the swell in this country that is still fighting to protect our healthcare, fighting that we hopefully do stay in the Paris Climate Accord.”

“I think about my kids more than my mom,” she admitted, saying her focus is on improving “the kind of world I want them to grow up in.” The panelists also wanted Clinton’s take on Trump’s “covfefe” tweet. “I think it can mean whatever you want it to mean. Even the dictionary said they’re going to stay out of it,” Clinton said.

She went on, “I think we have so many more important issues confronting us today… But comic relief is important, too.” Clinton again confirmed she doesn’t plan on running for office for the foreseeable future, saying, “I hope that we will have more women throwing their hat into the ring, and I look forward to supporting those women in the future.”

Clinton is currently celebrating women with her new children’s book, She Persisted. “I hope that sharing these stories help more girls,” the new author explained, adding, “I also hope it helps little boys see their sisters, their classmates equally.”

At the end of the interview, Joy Behar presented Clinton with Trump-bashing parodies of children’s books, and she seemed put off again. “I think we’re going to stick with the original[s],” she insisted. Check out the videos below.
