Megyn Kelly was recently the target of an untrue cover story from the National Enquirer. Now Chelsea Clinton is welcoming her to the "club" and mocking the supermarket tabloid.

As Gossip Cop reported, last week the National Enquirer ran a ridiculous cover story outrageously alleging Kelly was "hiding" a "$1.4 million plastic surgery transformation." The gossip magazine's article was titled, "Makeover Megyn's Rise To Queen Of Mean!" It was alleged the journalist put a "troubled past behind her with hair dye, scalpel and raging ambition," and now had an "addiction to plastic surgery." The dubious publication asserted she's "blown upwards of $1.4 million on cosmetic procedures in a bid to be camera-ready!"

The outlet, however, had no hard evidence to support its allegations. A doctor who had never even met Kelly was quoted as guessing what plastic surgery she supposedly had, and a decades-old yearbook photo was used to suggest the TV personality's appearance had drastically changed. Of course, most people don't look today as they did when such pictures were taken.

To put it bluntly, the cover story was "all garbage," Kelly's rep told Gossip Cop exclusively. Now Clinton has caught wind of the situation. Upon seeing a snapshot of the sensational cover on Twitter, the former First Daughter tweeted on Friday night, "@megynkelly welcome to the 'club!' Soon you too will have alien children (or siblings), excerpts from diaries never kept published & more!"

Clinton, of course, knows a thing or two about being wrongly victimized by the gossip media. Back in 2015, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for falsely claiming Clinton rejected an offer to join "The View." (Coincidentally, Clinton appeared as a "View" guest just last month.) And just a few months later, Gossip Cop debunked an absurd story from the tabloid's sister outlet RadarOnline, which bizarrely asserted Clinton was forced to get pregnant just to help her mom's campaign for president.

Tabloids are no "club" to which celebrities wish to belong. But Gossip Cop will be here to call out the fake news as needed.
