Chaz Wolcott tap danced his way into the judges’ hearts on Monday’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” Check out the video below!

Wolcott is a dancer and actor who has been building his resume since he was a toddler. He’s starred in regional theater productions, appeared on “Kings of Queens” and “GMA,” and performed in national tours of Cats and Newsies. He teaches at the Broadway Dance Center and has competed in the World Tap Championships.

Now he’s set his sights on FOX’s beloved dance competition after working up the courage at age 29, one year shy of the limit. As he performed to Sammy Davis Jr.’s “If My Friends Could See Me Now” with a smile on his face, it was clear his happiness and joy were infectious. The judges appeared to take delight in his routine, and told him so afterward.

First, though, there was a standing ovation, with Vanessa Hudgens yelling “wow” and Mary Murphy screaming, “Wooooo! I love it!” Murphy told Wolcott, “You have me all teary-eyed and everything. For god’s sakes, I’ve never had anybody in tap bring a tear to my eye, I swear to god.” Hudgens gushed, “You are so, so good!

“I felt you through your dance. There was a certain yumminess to your dancing. It was so great,” she went on, further praising the tapper for making the routine seem “effortless.” And Nigel Lythgoe told him, “What I loved more than anything about it was that it was perfect choreography to the music… One of the best tappers I’ve seen in years.”

Murphy wondered, “Are you going to be able to take time out? This is a huge commitment.” Wolcott responded, “It’s like taking master classes with these teachers. How would you ever want to turn that down? So, yes, I will take time.” Watch the video below! NOTE: The video is no longer available.
