Are Charlie Sheen and Denise Richard really doing a reality show together? That's the claim in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

According to the Globe, the ex-spouses are so desperate for money that they're planning career comebacks with a TV series that would give viewers an intimate look at their personal lives. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Denise and Charlie have pitched to do a show together. In the past they had always passed on offers because they didn't need the money. But how times have changed." The suspicious tipster adds, "A reality show would be perfect for them because Charlie and Denise are actually quite funny together."

Oddly, the outlet never bothers to mention that Richards is currently a cast member on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." That's a fairly significant detail to leave out. In fact, Sheen said in an interview last week that he won't be making an appearance on the show, but the ex-spouses' two daughters will be featured. "I don't appear on shows I don't watch," said the actor. Sheen presumably turned down the opportunity to participate on the Bravo series, so the idea that he's eager to jump into the world of reality TV doesn't make much sense.

Regardless, the tabloid's story is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source." A spokesperson for Sheen, however, says on the record that he's not starring on a reality show with his ex-wife. Despite what the magazine's unidentified "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actor's behalf confirms he and Richards don't have a TV project in the works.

This narrative about celebrities doing reality shows is a recurring theme in the tabloids, and it never pans out. Just last week, Gossip Cop called out the Globe's sister publication, the National Enquirer, for falsely claiming Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were starring on a reality show about their life as newlyweds.

Last year, Gossip Cop busted the Globe's other sister outlet, Star, for wrongly reporting that Miranda Lambert doing a reality show. And shortly before that, we debunked an OK! story about Justin Theroux starring on a reality show about his single life in New York City.

The reality is, the gossip media has no insight into what celebrities are planning to do with their careers. This latest article surrounding Sheen and Richards' nonexistent TV show is yet another example.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
