Charlie Hunnam says Robert Pattinson barely talked to him when they filmed The Lost City Of Z.

As Gossip Cop has reported, The Lost City Of Z is an upcoming adventure epic starring Hunnam as real-life explorer Percy Fawcett. In the early 20th century, Fawcett made several expeditions to find a lost city in the Amazon. The movie focuses on his mysterious travels, and features Pattinson as a fellow explorer named Henry Costin.

Production took place in Ireland and South America for a few months in 2015. During that time, Hunnam and Pattinson apparently didn’t speak much. In an interview with Screen Daily published on Saturday, Hunnam is asked about working with Pattinson, as well as co-stars Sienna Miller and Tom Holland.

He’s quoted as saying, “I had a couple of rehearsal sessions with Sienna, but I didn’t spend any time with Tom or Robert. I wanted these relationships to evolve naturally on screen. Through the work, I don’t think I said more than ten words to Robert off camera.”

“I didn’t know if he was just ‘in that zone’ or if he genuinely didn’t like me. There was a real distance between us. But it creates the right dynamic on screen,” Hunnam reportedly said. “He’s reached out to me subsequently, making overtures for us to be friends now, so I think it was about the work.”

Indeed, as Gossip Cop reported, Pattinson and Hunnam attended the Berlin Film Festival together last month, and that’s when this interview was conducted (see photo). They both went to a Lost City Of Z premiere in London a few days later. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Hunnam to confirm his quotes are accurate.

The Lost City Of Z will be released in the U.S. on April 14. Coincidentally, another movie with Pattinson, Queen Of The Desert, has the same release date.
