Was Charlie Hunnam really booed by angry passengers at the airport for using his celebrity status to cut the long immigration line? One of the tabloid’s claims the actor recently caused a scene at an airline terminal, but Gossip Cop looked into the alleged situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

Hunnam attended the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month for the premiere of his upcoming crime drama, Papillon, in which he plays a prisoner trying to escape a remote island. An article in the latest issue of Star now says the actor used his fame to jump to the front of the immigration queue after landing in the city. A so-called “spy” tells the magazine, “The lines were huge, and people had been waiting for well over an hour, but Charlie was in and out of there at warp speed. It was as if he expected everyone to be OK with it because of who he is.”

The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say “there were a lot of snarky comments” following the actor’s supposed line-cutting, “and then people actually started booing him.” The seemingly phony source further claims Hunnam just put his head down and tried to ignore the irate jeers being hurled at him. The questionable insider also says the actor later tried to “make amends” for skipping the line because “once he got to the other side of the airport, he stopped to sign autographs and pose for photos.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us this alleged incident “never happened.” Hunnam was never met with boos for sidestepping the line at the airport, and the outlet’s account of events is entirely fabricated. The tabloid’s assertion that the actor was somehow apologizing for his alleged actions by being nice to fans is also ridiculous. This is simply a non-story.
