Channing Tatum Magic Mike XXL screening

Channing Tatum went undercover as an old man in order to surprise fans at a fake screening of Magic Mike XXL. In a video posted online Tuesday, the actor announces that he’s teaming up with Omaze to offer one fan and a friend the opportunity to fly out to the Los Angeles premiere of the film, and also attend an after-party. To promote the contest, Tatum filmed a crazy stunt that had him in disguise. Watch below!

“I’m rounding out the boys to go to the premiere of Magic Mike XXL, and I want you to come with me,” says Tatum in the video. “So to give you a little preview, we’ve gathered an unsuspecting group of Magic Mike fans and we’re going to show them the movie in 3D.” He adds, “To give the fans the best show possible, I’m gonna go undercover and make sure that happens.” Tatum then heads to hair and makeup where he starts his transformation into Scott Galsey, a supposed marketing executive, who is attending the faux screening to ask the fans questions about the first movie, Magic Mike.

The guys and girls at the screening, of course, have no idea Galsey is actually Tatum, and dish on what they liked and disliked about the previous film. A few female friends tell an undercover Tatum that Matthew McConaughey was the best actor in Magic Mike, while another group says they didn’t necessarily like the plot of the film, but really enjoyed the “pelvic thrusting.”

After Galsey finishes questioning the fans, he brings everyone into an auditorium to watch the new movie in 3D. However, shortly after the lights go out, several shirtless guys come out from behind the stage and start dancing for the audience as Flo Rida’s song “G.D.F.R.” plays in the background. It’s only at the end that Tatum reveals his true identity. Check out the video below to see Channing Tatum go undercover for the fake Magic Mike XXL screening, and tell us what you think!
