Channing Tatum and Jessie J have only been dating for a few months, but their romance has already been the subject of several false tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has debunked many of these phony reports. Here are five recent wrong rumors about the new couple.
Last week, Gossip Cop busted Star for wrongly reporting that actor and the singer were house hunting in her native London. The magazine said Tatum wanted to settle down overseas with his new girlfriend as a way of starting his new life following his split from estranged wife Jenna Dewan. The outlet didn't bother to mention that the actor shares a 5-year-old daughter with Dewan. Tatum has joint physical and legal custody of the little girl, and often documents their time together on social media. The idea that he'd be eager to relocate overseas simply didn't make sense. Furthermore, Jessie J lives in Los Angeles. Regardless, the actor's spokesperson assured us on the record that the story was fabricated.
Gossip Cop also called out OK! last week for falsely claiming that Tatum was planning to propose to Jessie J over the holidays. The tabloid contented that the actor saw no reason to wait to walk down the aisle again. One reason, however, would be that Tatum's divorce from Dewan hasn't been finalized yet, but the magazine didn't acknowledge that fact. The outlet's premise was also based on claims from an anonymous "source," but a rep qualified to speak on Tatum's behalf assured us he has no intention of proposing in the coming weeks.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop debunked a ridiculous NW story claiming Jessie J was dumping her boyfriend for Ruby Rose. The article was purely speculative. It was seemingly concocted simply because Jessie J is friends with the actress and has dated women in the past. However, Jessie J denied being bisexual back in 2014, and said her romances with women were just a "phase." Regardless, the singer's rep went on the record to tell us the report was both false and "insane." And just days before it was published, Jessie J was spotted slow-dancing with Tatum at a Magic Mike Live event in London.
Gossip Cop corrected NW in October after the outlet reported that Tatum and Jessie J were already living together. Not only did the singer's spokesperson dismiss the story, but People magazine noted that the time that Tatum and Jessie J's relationship was "a new thing for them and too early to see if it will go anywhere." The reliable celebrity news outlet added, "For now they are having fun and getting to know each other." The two have grown closer since October, but they're still not shacking up together.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted In Touch in October for alleging that Dewan was having a tough time with the news that Tatum was dating Jessie J. The magazine claimed that the dancer "couldn't get over" her estranged husband and "hates dating." Less than two weeks after we shot down the bogus premise, the news emerged that Dewan had already been dating actor Steve Kazee for a couple of months. In fact, it seems she started a relationship with the actor right around the same time Tatum and Jessie J got together.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
