One of this week's tabloids claims Channing Tatum plans to propose to Jessie J over the holidays. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

"Channing's Christmas Proposal!" reads a headline in the latest issue of OK! The accompanying article says the actor is ready to walk down the aisle with his girlfriend of just two months. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Channing sees no reason to wait. He knew he wanted to be with Jessie the moment they met."

The alleged insider further contends that Tatum doesn't think it's too soon to get married again, despite it only being eight months since he and Jenna Dewan separated. "Channing feels like Jessie is his soul mate, and she feels the same way," adds the questionable tipster. "You better believe she'd say yes to his proposal."

The magazine's story is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but a rep qualified to speak on Tatum's behalf says on the record that it's untrue. The actor has no plans to propose to the singer over the holidays. It's worth noting, Tatum and Dewan's divorce has yet to be finalized, meaning the actor is still technically married. He's simply not rushing to the altar again.

Additionally, OK! has already proven to have zero insight into the actor's personal life. Just two months ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Tatum was secretly dating Amber Heard and the two were moving in together. Just a few weeks after we debunked the bogus romance rumors, the news emerged that Tatum was in a relationship with Jessie J.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the magazine in April for attempting to create a nonexistent romance between Tatum and Angelina Jolie. The outlet claimed the actress set up a meeting between the two under the guise of working together, but with the ulterior motive of pursuing him. The incident never occurred.

The tabloids haven't been any more reliable when it comes to reporting about the actor's real relationship. Gossip Cop previously corrected a bogus report about Tatum and Jessie J already living together. Shortly after that, we debunked a phony story claiming Jessie J was dumping Tatum for Ruby Rose.

Here's what's really happening. Two stars have developed a romance, so the gossip media is taking the opportunity to come up with false narratives about their relationship. This latest article surrounding a "Christmas proposal" is another example.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
