It’s Cinco de Mayo, and a number of celebrities are tweeting in honor of the Mexican holiday. See Hollywood stars’ tweets below!

The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In addition to the many festive parades held in Mexico every fifth of May, the U.S. also recognizes the holiday by celebrating Mexican-American culture. Khloe Kardashian, for instance, shared her “ultimate taco recipe” in honor of the holiday. Kate Walsh offered, “Happy Cinco de Mayo! Party fuerte … but also responsibly, ok?!” And Ellen DeGeneres joked, “Happy #CincodeMayo! Or as I call it, the best reason to have a margarita before noon.”

Meanwhile, some stars took the opportunity to promote their alcohol products. Sean “Diddy” Combs hyped Delon Tequila by declaring, “It’s for the type of individual that knows how to take their time & enjoy the finer things in life!” Bethenny Frankel advertised her Skinnygirl Margarita by writing, “Cinco de May I have another? Stock up for #CincoDeMayo.” Additionally, George Lopez tweeted, “Today is a celebration” and also provided “some #cincodemayo trivia.”

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb noted on their talk show’s Twitter account, “It’s a double celebration! Happy #CincodeMayo and #KentuckyDerby!” Senator Al Franken expressed, “Today, we recognize cultural, historical significance of #CincodeMayo, an important holiday for millions of Mexican-Americans in our nation.” And Eva Longoria announced, “Starting off my #CincoDeMayo right with huevos rancheros!”

Additionally, Kylie Jenner, Brandi Glanville and Jeff Dunham all simply wished, “Happy #CincoDeMayo!” Gossip Cop will update as more stars celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
