Celebrities are reacting on Twitter to President Donald Trump’s speech on the mass shooting at a Las Vegas music festival. See below Hollywood stars’ tweets and reactions to the president’s remarks about the horrific tragedy.

As Gossip Cop reported, at least 58 people were killed and more than 500 were injured after a 64-year-old gunman named Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a three-day outdoor concert attended by more than 22,000 people. The shooter sprayed bullets on the crowd from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where he was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The attack marks the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Speaking from the White House, the president expressed his “sadness, shock and grief” at the events. Trump called the incident “an act of pure evil” before thanking the “miraculous” first responders who “prevented further loss of life.” As for the families of the victims, the president stated, “We can not fathom their pain. We can not imagine their loss… We are praying for you and we are here for you.”

Trump also prayed for the “full and speedy recovery” of all those injured in the attack, revealed he’ll be visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with law enforcement, first responders and the victims. “In moments of tragedy and horror, America comes together as one and it always has,” added Trump. “We call upon the bonds that unite us – our faith, our family and our shared values.”

One celebrity weighing in on Trump’s speech is Lady Gaga, who noted that the president offered condolences to the victims but never once mentioned the issue of guns. “Prayers are important but blood is on the hands of those who have power to legislate. #GunControl act quickly,” the singer tweeted. George Takei said, “With terrible, heartwrenching news filling national headlines, we are met with tone-deaf inanities from our president. He cannot lead us.” And Emmy Rossum wrote, “I am tired of how easy it is to: ‘Pray for (insert latest attack or natural disaster here).’ Prayer + Action is the answer.”

In response to Trump ordering all American flags to be flown at half-staff, Michael Ian Black offered, “Feels like they’re in a permanent state of half-staff because of all the mass shootings. Maybe flying them upside down would be more apt?” And Sophia Bush asserted, “Leaders who send ‘thoughts and prayers’ condolences while supporting a bill that will allow silencers to be more accessible are bullsh*t.”

As Gossip Cop reported, many Hollywood stars reacted to the shooting on Twitter when the news first broke, while several additional celebrities urged stricter gun control laws in the wake of the massacre. Gossip Cop will update as more stars react to Trump’s speech on the Las Vegas shooting.
