Celebrities are reacting to Jay Z dropping on his new album 4:44 on Friday. And while some are sharing their praise for his record, which has the rapper seemingly admitting to having cheated on Beyonce, as well as revealing his mom is a lesbian, others are taking him to task for only releasing the album on Tidal. See Hollywood stars’ reactions below.

Olivia Wilde wrote, “Listening to new Jay Z, synced up, on separate headphones, in the back of a cab, riding over the bridge at midnight = [heart emoji]. I recommend it.” Chrissy Teigen joked, “I sure picked the wrong day to release my first album.” And LeBron James tweeted in a series of messages, “4:44,” and “No one wins when the Family Feuds.” He followed those up with a third note that read, “I hope y’all truly listening to what he’s saying. Giving the game and blueprint once again for damn near free! This is a testimony. 4:44 #Hov.”

Along with a photo of him drinking cognac with Jay Z, DJ Khaled tweeted, “Listening to MORE [on fire emoji] #JAYZ @rocnation! @dussecognac.” Kendrick Lamar was impressed, too. He exclaimed, “4:44. WOW. MASTER TEACHER.”

But not everyone was happy with Jay Z’s first album in four years. Eric Benet slammed the music mogul for his first track “Kill Jay-Z” that touches on the rapper’s alleged infidelity. Referencing how Benet famously cheated on Halle Berry when they were married, Jay Z’s new song includes the lyrics, “You almost went Eric Benet. Let the baddest girl in the world get away… Ni**a, never go Eric Benet.” Now married to Manuela Testolini, Benet responded, “Hey yo #JayZ! Just so ya know, I got the baddest girl in the world as my wife… like right now!”

And, as noted above, some stars were downright ticked off by 4:44 only being available on Tidal. Charlamagne Tha God‏
tweeted at the music streaming service, “The reason you don’t have Jay Z new album is because you don’t support black businesses. @Tidalhifi.” Meanwhile, Brooklyn Decker noted, “I went to sign up for @TIDALHiFi to listen to the new Jay-Z album then it tells me I have to be a sprint customer or an existing Tidal user?” And Samantha Ronson admitted, “Still not signing up for Tidal. #CantKnockTheHustle #JayZ444.” Gossip Cop will continue to update as more celebrities react to the release of Jay Z’s new album.
