Celebrities are reacting on Twitter to the death of Tom Petty, who passed away Monday after going into full cardiac arrest on Sunday night. Hollywood and music stars are now mourning and paying tribute to the late singer. See tweets below.

As Gossip Cop reported, the 66-year-old musician was rushed to the to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital on Sunday night after being found unconscious and not breathing in his Malibu home. Petty was placed on life support at the facility, but his family decided to take him off on Monday after learning he had no brain activity. The rocker rose to fame in 1976 with his group, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, whose hit songs include “Free Fallin’,” “American Girl” and “I Won’t Back Down,” to name a few. Petty’s death comes just one week after he wrapped up a nearly eight-month tour with the Heartbreakers last week.

Among the celebrities reacting to the singer’s death is Russell Crowe, who wrote, “Mr Petty, thanks for all of it.” Of course, many stars noted that the sad news comes just hours after the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas. John Cusack stated, “Tom petty – what a day – f**k.” Colin Hanks said, “Damn it. NO! Tom Petty got me thru this morning.” And Josh Groban wrote, “What a horrid day for our country, music fans and music itself. RIP Tom Petty. His songs are always good medicine. Love to his family.”

Cameron Crowe said, “no words. just thanks.” Kevin Smith noted, “One night when I was 11, I played The Waiting by #TomPetty on a jukebox 100 times in a row. Loved the man’s voice & his art. RIP, Legend.” Mandy Moore tweeted, “One of the greatest. Sending love & light to his family, band/crew & legions of fans forever touched by the music around the [world].” And Nick Lachey added, “One of the best to ever do it!! #RIP.”

Stephen King asked, “Tom Petty gone? That’s just so wrong. What a bad day this has been, in so many ways.” Kyle Richards expressed, “Rest In Peace #TomPetty thanks for the memories. Rob Schneider conveyed, “Tom Petty, an American treasure. Thank you for the musical score to our lives.” And Andy Cohen wrote, “This is a no good, horrible, rotten day,” while Zach Braff similarly noted it’s a “bad day.”

Bryan Adams said, “RIP Tom Petty. Thanks for all the great rockin’ music, hard to believe you’re gone.” Ed Helms offered, “Thank you, Tom Petty, for all of the light you brought to the world.” John Mayer noted, “I loved Tom Petty and I covered his songs because I wanted know what it felt like to fly.” And Rob Lowe wrote, “Tom Petty was on my Mount Rushmore of rock heroes. Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted, “I am so grateful for Tom Petty’s music. Feels selfish to want more, but I always will. Rest in peace.” Ashley Greene stated, “One of the most iconic uses of music to film is Tom Petty’s ‘Free Fallin’ in Jerry Maguire. That’s all of us. What a legend.” And Joe Jonas said, “R.I.P.
