Celebrities are reacting to a serious car crash in Times Square that left one person dead and 20 injured on Thursday. See reaction tweets from Hollywood stars below.

A 26-year-old man with a reported history of DWIs was allegedly behind the wheel of a car that jumped the sidewalk, striking pedestrians in Manhattan’s highly-populated tourist hot spot. No information has been released on the identity of the deceased, or the conditions of the injured victims. The driver, however, initially tried to flee but is now in police custody. A preliminary investigation has ruled out any connections to terrorism.

Many celebs have close ties to the location of the tragic incident, and are now expressing condolences and prayers on social media. “God please take care of those hurt by this, that’s 45th/Broadway aka ‘TRL’ corner where many of u stood, tweeted Carson Daly, who went on to ask, “What’s going on today in the world?”

New Yorker Rosie Perez exclaimed, “OH NO! And one fatality. What the hell?! Sending love to my hometown NY and pray all other 13 injured make it through. #timessquare.” Sara Bareilles, who is currently starring in Waitress on Broadway, expressed, “Sooo sad to hear about the accident at Times Square. Just terrible.” Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda said, “Thoughts and prayers to loved ones and neighbors in the theatre district in light of this morning’s car crash. So scary.” Johnny Weir also wrote, “Don’t f*ck with New York. Praying for the victims and families of the Times Square accident. This has to stop.”

“What a horrible accident in our Broadway hood today. Devastating. Be safe out there,” commented Josh Groban. Alyssa Milano urged, “Please check in NY…” And Olivia Wilde revealed, “Walked my normal route to work today through Times Sq just as all hell broke loose. Horrible. Thanks to police & fire for reacting so fast.”

Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted that he was en route to the accident site. And while President Donald Trump hasn’t commented, Press Secretary Sean Spicer posted on Twitter, “.@POTUS has been made aware of the situation in Times Square and will continue to receive updates.”
