As Gossip Cop reported, Ripa announced on Monday that Seacret is her new permanent co-host. The news comes nearly a year after Michael Strahan departed the show amid much controversy. There was also much speculation about who would replace him.

Among the names bandied about was Andy Cohen, one of Ripa’s best friends. But though he guest co-hosted on numerous occasions, he voiced disinterest in taking the job full-time. And now Cohen was one of the first celebs saluting Seacrest on his first day. “Mazel @RyanSeacrest!! #LiveKellyRyan,” the “Watch What Happens Live” host tweeted.

Bethenny Frankel commented, “Now THAT is a powerhouse combo @RyanSeacrest @KellyRipa That other stuff was a dress rehearsal. @LiveKelly.” Billy Eichner amusingly exclaimed, “Viva Seacrest!” Kevin Jonas said, “Congrats @RyanSeacrest on @LiveKelly happy to have you on the east coast!!” Chris Harrison offered , “Congrats to @KellyRipa and @RyanSeacrest two great broadcasters coming together on @LiveKelly going to be a great combo!” Jennifer Lopez also tweeted, “Congrats @RyanSeacrest on the new gig! Can’t wait to visit you and @KellyRipa #KellyandRyan #Familia.” The new co-hosts actually discussed Lopez during their inaugural show together, and expressed interest in having her on the program.

“Congrats @KellyRipa & @RyanSeacrest Was really hoping @LiveKelly was gonna choose @MrJerryOC so I could hang with @MarkConsuelos,” remarked Rebecca Romijn, referring to Ripa’s husband and her own husband, Jerry O’Connell, who frequently guest co-hosted. O’Connell himself posted, “Congrats to my old friends @RyanSeacrest and @KellyRipa and even Gelman! Ha! Love you all @LiveKelly.” Anderson Cooper, another Ripa pal who decided to stay at CNN instead of joining the talk show, wrote, “Congratulations @RyanSeacrest, you get to join the best person i know, @KellyRipa every day! Can’t wait to watch!”

Kathy Griffin remarked, “I called this #seacrest world take over YEARS AGO. @KellyRipa there’s a chip in his head. IVE SEEN IT. Congrats u 2 kids! @RyanSeacrest.” Ellen DeGeneres amusingly said, “My friend @RyanSeacrest is the new Kathie Lee!” And Jenny McCarthy also posted, “Congrats to @RyanSeacrest for the new gig. After working along side you for 7 years on NYE I can say that @KellyRipa is a lucky gal.” It’s expected Seacrest will continue to emcee “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” which airs on ABC, just like “Live.”

He will also continue to host “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” with the radio show moving to New York from Los Angeles. And, ever the busy man, Seacrest will still provide red carpet coverage for E!. In March, Gossip Cop busted RadarOnline for falsely claiming Seacrest was replacing Nick Cannon as host of “America’s Got Talent.” Clearly, the TV personality had another gig in mind.

For his part, Seacrest tweeted, “So excited to join this show!! @KellyRipa crushes every morning… one of my favorite people ever #livekellyryan.” He went on to say, “Day 1 of many. Thank you for making it easy, @KellyRipa. #LiveKellyRyan.” And Ripa posted, “The Seacrest is out! @RyanSeacrest #KellyAndRyan #LiveKellyRyan.”
