It’s International Women’s Day, and a number of celebrities are taking to social media to celebrate the occasion. Observed since the early 1900’s and celebrated annually on March 8, International Women’s Day honors the social, cultural and political achievements of women. See Hollywood stars’ tweets and reactions below!

Madonna shared, “Dreaming of a world where women have equal rights,” adding, “Celebrate #InternationalWomensDay. The Revolution Starts Now!!! Happy International Women’s Day!!” Bindi Irwin tweeted, “To the strongest and most beautiful woman I have ever known – my gorgeous Mum. I love you forever. #InternationalWomensDay.” “#InternationalWomensDay,” Lin-Manuel Miranda simply expressed. And Emma Watson offered, “From midnight NYC time, book fairies around the WORLD will start hiding feminist books to mark #InternationalWomensDay.”

Michael Sheen joked, “Have a great day. (But just the one remember) #InternationalWomensDay.” Piers Morgan wrote, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay to the wondrous, fairer, gentler & generally vastly superior sex.” And Will Poulter said, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay!!!” Sharon Stone expressed, “Celebrate women all over the country on #InternationalWomensDay #WeStrikeFor Women’s Rights, Gender Equality and Justice for All.” J.K. Rowling expressed, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay, or, as it’s often called on here, #WhyIsn’tThereAnInternationalMensDay. (There is: November 19th).”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump wrote, “I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy,” adding, “On International Women’s Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world.” Adele shared, “‘Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult,’ #internationalwomensday.” Bryce Dallas Howard wrote, “#IWD2017 #InternationalWomensDay.” And Rosie Perez tweeted, “Yay!!!! #InternationalWomensDay.”

Josh Duhamel offered, “Love and respect to all women around the world today and EVERYDAY. #InternationalWomensDay.” Katie Couric tweeted, “I am strong, I am invincible, I am woman. Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all you female badasses!” Andy Lassner joked, “I take orders from a woman at work. I take orders from a woman at home. I’m doing my part. #InternationalWomensDay.”

Chelsea Handler quipped, “Happy international women’s day. @realDonaldTrump, a special congrats to all the int’l pussies that have been assaulted by you.” Rita Wilson said, “#internationalwomensday I am proud to be a woman and to support others.
