Celebrities are expressing prayers and support for the people of Barcelona after an apparent terrorist attack on Thursday. See stars’ reaction tweets below.

An unidentified driver drove a van into a crowd of pedestrians in the Las Ramblas district, a popular tourist destination in the Spanish city. While initial information varied, authorities now say 13 people were killed and at least 50 injured. One man is in custody. As the situation is still unfolding, a lot of the critical details are subject to change.

Among the first to comment on social media after news of the tragedy broke was First Lady Melania Trump, who tweeted, “Thoughts and prayers to #Barcelona.” More than an hour later, President Donald Trump tweeted, “The United States condemns the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is necessary to help. Be tough & strong, we love you!” Lin-Manuel Miranda, wrote, “All prayers and thoughts in Barcelona this morning. Heartbreaking.” Alyssa Milano offered, “Sending my thoughts, love and strength to #barcelona!” And Elijah Wood expressed, “My heart is with Barcelona.”

“Now is the time that we must come together and put an end to the senseless violence,” Jake T. Austin said, adding, “Stay strong. Te amo mucho #Barcelona.” Sara Ramirez posted, “My thoughts with those injured in #Barcelona.” Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted, “I [heart] #Barcellona and the beautiful people who are the spirit of that city. All my thoughts and prayers are with you today. Stay strong!”

Josh Gad revealed, “A week and a half ago today I was walking in #lasRamblas in #Barcellona – I am so devastated for this incredible city & it’s amazing people.” Paula Abdul said, “What a shameful, hateful, senseless attack. Tragic. The people of #Barcelona have my entire heart, all of my love and my sincere prayers.” Will Poulter commented, “My heart aches at the news of a devastating terrorist attack in Barcelona. Thoughts and strength to the victims and the responding services.”

“The hate needs to stop,” tweeted Katie Stevens, further writing, “My thoughts are with the families and friends of all the victims in Barcelona. #standtogether.” Jennifer Lopez offered her support in Spanish, writing, “Enviándole mucho amor y paz a la gran ciudad de #Barcelona y toda su gente hermosa. #barcelonaContigo #barcelonaAmbTu.” Antonio Banderas also posted, “Fundidos en un abrazo con #Barcelona.” Mixing Spanish and English, Antonio Sabato Jr. said, “My prayers and love are with you #Barcelona para Siempre.”

Jededia Bila stated, “Horrific news coming out of Barcelona with this terror attack. A beautiful city. My heart goes out to everyone there.” “Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected in #Barcelona,” expressed Emilie de Ravin. Michael Urie commented, “Sending love and strength to #Barcelona.” Meanwhile, Ashley Greene shared, “My heart breaks for all of those affected by today’s tragedy in Barcelona. The world needs a group hug right now. More love and compassion.”

“Sending prayers for the victims of the senseless act of grotesque terrorism in Barcelona. This madness has to stop,” tweeted Rainn Wilson. Ellen DeGeneres said, “All my love to Barcelona today.” Elizabeth Banks offered, “Sending all the love and light to #Barcelona.” And Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and friends in Barcelona. Today, we all stand with Spain.”

Meanwhile, Steve Harvey wrote, “My heart goes out to the victims of the attack in #Barcelona. Our prayers are with you all.” Gal Gadot expressed, “Sending all my love to Barcelona and those affected by this horrible tragedy.” And Kate Walsh noted, “So terribly sad, 1 of my favorite cities in the world.
