Celebrities are reacting to the death of Alan Thicke at age 69. See stars’ reaction tweets below.

Thicke died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his son, Carter. He was transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. In addition to Carter, Thicke is also survived by his wife, Tayna, as well as his singing son Robin, and a third son, Brennan.

The actor, of course, is best known for playing the patriarch, Jason Seaver, on “Growing Pains,” a role for which he received a Golden Globes nomination in 1988. Ten years later, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as a co-producer for the game show “Pictionary.” More recently, he and his family starred on the reality show, “Unusually Thicke.” He also appeared on “Fuller House,” and made a cameo appearance as himself on the pilot of “This Is Us.”

Tributes to the late star are now pouring in on Twitter and Instagram. Ellen DeGeneres wrote, “America loved Alan Thicke. I’m so sad he’s gone. Sending so much love to his family.” Larry King tweeted, “So sorry to hear of the passing of Alan Thicke. A wonderful talent, a wonderful man.” Bob Saget expressed, “So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke. Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan.” “Had the pleasure of meeting Alan Thicke and his amazing wife Tanya a few years back.. my thoughts and prayers are with his family. RIP,” added Demi Lovato.

Alyssa Milano shared “Alan Thicke was always the nicest and happiest person in the room. Gone way too soon. Rest In Peace.” Olivia Munn wrote, “So so sad to hear about the passing of #AlanThicke. Such a nice guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. Rest in love.” Marlee Matlin offered, “I am saddened at the news of #GrowingPains Alan Thicke’s passing. My daughter and I just saw him! RIP dear friend and gentleman.” “Rest in peace Alan Thicke – You brought so much light, love and humor to the world! Deeply grateful for your friendship and wisdom,” stated Ed Helms.

Ryan Seacrest expressed, “sad to learn of Alan Thicke’s passing. he was a great friend over the years. thoughts & prayers to his family.” “I’m shocked to hear about Alan Thicke. He was a good man who gave me some big breaks in my early days. I’ll miss you buddy,” tweeted Howie Mandel. William Shatner noted, “Saddened over the loss of my friend Alan. Condolences to his family.” And Russell Simmons said, “RIP to my brother Alan Thicke. The world has lost an icon.”

Alongside a photo of her with Thicke, Candace Cameron Bure mourned on Instagram, “I’m sad beyond words that Alan Thicke has passed away. I’ve known you since I was 8 years old and so glad I had the pleasure of working with you again so recently on Fuller House. You were a part of my family and hockey family. You will be greatly missed. My heart hurts.” “So tragic to hear the news of the passing of Alan Thicke. God Bless his family at this tough time,” added Carson Daly.

I grew up watching him and got to know him through Robin. He was always so kind to me. So sad to hear about his passing,” shared John Legend. Caroline Rhea noted, “I loved #AlanThicke He was a great Canadian and friend. Funny and kind. My condolences to his family. #RIPAlanThicke.” Lori Loughlin tweeted, “I’m so sad to hear about the passing of Alan Thicke. RIP Alan.”

Tom Bergeron recalled, “First met @Alan_Thicke while working with his brother @realtoddthicke on @AFVofficial. Shocked to hear he’s passed. Sending condolences.” Dane Cook said, “RIP Alan Thicke who was a great talent and a genuine person. #everyonesdad.” Arsenio Hall ‏revealed, “Alan Thicke [rip] – An unselfish, multi-talented, good guy, who taught me A LOT!
