Monday is 9/11, the 16th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. A number of celebrities are taking to Twitter to reflect on the tragic day and pay tribute to the thousands of lives lost. See celebrity tweets below.

Among those commenting on the anniversary of 9/11 is Carson Daly, who wrote, “9/11. 16 years. #NeverForget #911 #NYC.” Melissa Joan Hart offered, “September 11th will always be a day of somber remembrance for me and my family! A day that changed the landscape of not only my city but my country and our world.” She added, “I will never forget the feeling of vulnerability and helplessness as I watched the towers tumble onto the streets below. I pray for the families that grieve that they may find comfort and may we remember that we are all human beings that deserve to live in peace!”

Meanwhile, Rosie Perez told her followers, “Today is #9/11- WE WILL #NEVERFORGET! I urge all to visit 9/11 Memorial/Museum to honor those who lost their lives.” Leah Remini shared, “To those we lost, to those who fought to save them, to the families who lost it all. Some wounds never heal. We remember, we honor you. #NeverForget.” And Katie Couric noted, “This is still so chilling for me to relive. Remembering those we lost that day.”

Hugh Jackman commented, “Forever in our hearts and minds. #NeverForget.” Bethenny Frankel tweeted, “9/11. To think that so much other tragedy is on my mind today is mindblowing. There is not enough room for all the destruction and despair.” “16 years later and we still remember and will #NeverForget,” wrote Robin Roberts. And Ben Stiller said, “Thinking of all those who put themselves in harm’s way to save lives on 9/11. And those who are no longer with us. #NYC.”

Carrie Underwood simply tweeted, “#NeverForget.” Mark Wahlberg offered, “United we stand. #neverforget #September11.” Denis Leary commented, “In the dust and pain of that awful day, one @FDNY brother seeking another. #NeverForget #September11.” Former president Bill Clinton wrote, “We are united in remembering those we lost, their families, and the heroic first responders in NY, VA, PA, and across America. #September11.” And along with a black-and-white photo of the Twin Towers, Chloe Grace Moretz added, “9.11.01 Never Forget.”

Missy Elliot noted, “I was in NY during 9/11 a memory that will never leave my mind. so imagine those families who lost loved ones. I send up prayers for healing.” Debra Messing tweeted, “Never Forget” alongside a broken heart emoji. And Jaimie Alexander expressed, “Taking a moment 2 remember those who lost their lives+the families of those brave individuals. Respect to all 1st responders.”

Alyssa Milano said, “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die – Thomas Campbell #NeverForget.” First Lady Melania Trump wrote, “Remembering September 11, 2001 #NeverForget.” Paula Abdul shared, “We honor the memory of all the lives lost. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez offered, “We will ALWAYS remember. #neverforget.” George Takei suggested, “On this 9/11, let’s especially honor and remember our First Responders. Many gave their lives, others still suffer dire medical consequences.” And Tom Arnold noted, “Today on the anniversary of 9/11 I’m thinking about the brave helpers who run into burning buildings on that day and every single day.”

Reese Witherspoon conveyed, “Thinking a lot about the first responders who risk their lives daily. These people are the [heart] of the USA and deserve to be honored everyday.” Ashley Tisdale posted a photo of a 9/11 monument and added, “Never forget #September11.” And Common said, “My Heart and Prayers go out to the Spirits and all those affected by #September11.”

Jessica Biel stated, “Today and every day we remember those lost on #September11th and the courage of all first responders.” Alicia Keys expressed, “This is for all the suffering, lives lost. Demi Lovato recalled, “9/11 is a day I will NEVER forget. Where I was when I found out.
