Cate Blanchett is NOT mean to the cast and crew of her Broadway play “The Present,” despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”

“Blanchett Broadway Bully,” blares a headline from this week’s Star, which goes on to claim the actress “refuses to step off the A-list” behind the scenes of her new Broadway production, “The Present.” A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Cate’s mood swings have been driving the cast and crew crazy.” “The other day she went ballistic after someone gave her the wrong brand of water,” further purports the magazine’s questionable insider, adding, “Cate blew up and wouldn’t let it go, she had this poor stagehand in tears.”

But Gossip Cop investigated, and a source involved with the production exclusively assures us the entire story is completely “false.” Blanchett is not a “Broadway Bully,” nor does she irritate the cast and crew with her supposed moody and diva behavior. It’s simply fake news.

Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by Star’s fabricated report. In November, Gossip Cop called out the publication for falsely alleging Blanchett and Anne Hathaway were feuding on the set of Ocean’s Eight. Of course, that wasn’t true, and the same goes for this latest claim.
