Caitlyn Jenner is not hoping to adopt Paris Jackson, despite a bizarre and untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the premise. A rep for the reality star confirms it's fabricated.
In April 2017, Jenner and Jackson took a photo together at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. According to an article in the latest issue of OK!, the two became close after hanging out at the event and now the former Olympian "has set her sights on adopting" the model.
An alleged insider tells the magazine, "They really bonded over their belief in equal rights. Paris feels she's found a soulful connection with Caitlyn. They text and talk a lot, and Caitlyn is someone that Paris can always come to for advice."
The outlet's supposed source goes on to say that Jackson refers to Jenner as "mom," which the reality star loves, especially after the Kardashian sisters stopped talking to her. "Since their falling out, Caitlyn feels like part of her reason for living has gone away," adds the questionable tipster. "But bonding with Paris is starting to fill that void." The seemingly nonexistent insider adds, "Caitlyn has made it her mission to guide Paris through her life and help her make good choices."
The magazine's storyline is coming from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but Gossip Cop checked in with Jenner's spokesperson, who calls it "absurd." Despite what the tabloid's "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the reality star's behalf says on the record that she's not trying to adopt Jackson. Furthermore, how exactly does one adopt a 20-year-old woman?
It's worth noting, Jenner and Jackson haven't been photographed together since their April 2017 run-in at the GLAAD Awards. It's likely the two have crossed paths in the time since, as both have been spotted attending some of the same fashion events, but it doesn't appear they have a mother/daughter dynamic.
Additionally, the magazine tries to validate its story by saying that Jenner is looking for a new daughter because the Kardashian sisters won't associate with her anymore. The tabloid doesn't bother to mention that the reality star has two biological daughters, Kendall and Kylie, who are still very close with her. In addition to being untrue, the outlet's premise doesn't make sense.
Unfortunately, OK! frequently targets the former Olympian with bogus stories. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last month for falsely claiming that Jenner was drunk dialing the Kardashians. This latest article involving her alleged plan to adopt Jackson is also baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
