Is a TV reunion between Caitlyn Jenner and O.J. Simpson in the works? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, which says network executives want to get the transgender reality star and disgraced ex-NFL player in the same room. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we cane exclusively set the record straight.

Jenner and Simpson first crossed paths in the ’90s when the former Olympian was married to Kris Jenner, who was close friends with Simpson’s murdered ex-wife, Nicole. The former footballer, who was released on parole last month after serving nine years in a Nevada prison for armed robbery, has yet to meet Jenner since her transition. According to Life & Style, so-called “TV producers” have come up with the idea bring them together in a televised reunion.

The magazine’s alleged source provides very few details about what this supposed show would entail, other than to say it would be “an informative, interview-type show” in which Jenner would ask the ex-con “probing questions.” “If they do it right, it would be fascinating,” adds the questionable insider, who fails to mention the TV network that has concocted this purported scheme.

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Jenner, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s report is simply “not true.” Also, even if these mysterious “TV producers” pitched the show to the two former athletes, it’s doubtful either one would be interested. Jenner said in a recent interview that she and Kris “knew he was guilty” of murdering ex-wife Nicole “right from the beginning.” In response, Simpson said, “I don’t know Caitlyn… As far as Bruce is concerned, I really didn’t know him that well.” It doesn’t sound like either of them are too anxious to be in the same room anytime soon.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time Life & Style has proposed a nonexistent TV project surrounding the transgender star. Gossip Cop busted the magazine earlier this year for wrongly reporting Jenner would confront the Kardashians on a live pay-per-view special. Much like that fictional show, Jenner and Simpson’s TV reunion will only be airing in Life & Style’s imagination.
