Caitlyn Jenner is not "terrified" about O.J. Simpson being released from prison, despite a claim from a certain webloid that likes to sensationalize and exploit news stories by turning them into fake news. Gossip Cop is exclusively told the report is "B.S."

In the wake of Simpson being granted parole, RadarOnline is blaring, "Kris & Caitlyn Jenner 'Terrified' About O.J. Simpson's Prison Release." A so-called "Kardashian family insider" is quoted as saying, "Kris is completely beside herself right now and was hoping that O.J. would be locked away forever." The site's supposed source goes on to allege, "Kris and Caitlyn both believe that he killed Nicole [Brown Simpson] and they are terrified that he will come after them now that he is out."

Caitlyn is "especially concerned because of what she wrote about O.J. in her recent memoir," claims the outlet's purported snitch, who adds, "O.J.'s release may bring Kris and Caitlyn closer because they spent many years fearing him for what they believe he did to Nicole. They want him to stay far, far away from their family forever!"

Gossip Cop has no doubt both Jenners want Simpson to stay away from their family. Kris and Caitlyn have both made it clear, particularly in recent years, that they despise their former friend. But are they really "terrified" over his upcoming release from prison? Gossip Cop is told no.

At this week's hearing, it was noted Simpson intends to reside in Florida, which makes it unlikely he will cross paths with the Kardashian-Jenners in California. And while many believe the former NFL player got away with murder, it is a bit irrational to think "he will come after them now" given that he will be on parole and even the tiniest of violations could send him back to prison. Additionally, Caitlyn is not concerned over what she wrote about him in her memoir, The Secrets Of My Life.

If she was so worried about retaliation, as this article suggests, Caitlyn would not have spoken about him on "The View" just last week. Another sign that this piece is really just fake news is the alleged "insider" quote about Simpson's release possibly bringing the Jenners "closer." Last September, the webloid claimed Kris was going to be Caitlyn's manager. And more recently, in May, the outlet alleged Kris wanted to get back together with Caitlyn.

If either of those were true, she wouldn't need Simpson's release from prison to bring them "closer" now. But both stories were inaccurate, as Gossip Cop reported when each originally came out, and time has proven we were right. Now we're exclusively told by Caitlyn's rep that this new story about being "terrified" over Simpson is also "B.S." Gossip Cop expects there to be a lot of B.S. regarding this topic in the coming months, and we already called out MediaTakeOut for ridiculously claiming Kris wants to manage O.J. We'll continue separating fact from fiction as necessary.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
