A tabloid story claiming to know why Caitlyn Jenner didn’t film her “final surgery” for television was made up, Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal. We’re told the tale was fabricated.

As Gossip Cop reported, Jenner reveals in her memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, that she underwent gender confirmation surgery earlier this year. She wrote that she was only mentioning it to put an end to distasteful questions about her body, and stressed that she never intends to discuss it again. But according to In Touch, the transgender star was “considering” doing a reality special about the procedure because “she was desperate to stay on television.”

With “I Am Cait” no longer in production, a so-called “source” contends to the tabloid that Jenner “could have filmed her recent surgery for an E! special.” So, why didn’t she? The gossip magazine asserts two of the Olympian’s children, Brandon and Brody Jenner, talked her out of the idea. The outlet’s supposed snitch maintains Jenner’s sons “begged” her not to move forward with the proposed project because “they were worried she’d be exploited.”

As a compromise, though, the publication alleges Jenner still did “confessionals at home with a cellphone to document” her recovery process. Asserts the tabloid’s purported tipster, “That way she could use the footage in the future if she wants.” But as mentioned above, Jenner has already expressed an on-the-record desire to never again address her surgery, so why would she need documentary footage for the future?

What’s more is Gossip Cop already busted In Touch sister outlet Life & Style last September for falsely claiming Jenner wanted to air her sex change surgery on TV. But there’s even more proof the tabloids don’t have accurate insight on this topic.

In February, In Touch maintained Jenner had decided to have gender confirmation surgery and was now preparing to have the operation this year. But at the time that tale was published, she had actually already undergone the procedure the previous month. That makes it abundantly clear that the magazine’s sources on this subject, if they even really exist, don’t know what they’re talking about.

So, naturally, Gossip Cop was suspicious of this latest tale about Jenner supposedly contemplating filming her surgery for TV and then deciding not to. Now a rep exclusively tells us the article is “100 percent not true.” Brandon and Brody did not convince Jenner not to do a TV special because there wasn’t one under consideration in the first place. This is just another example of a made-up fake news story.
