Is Caitlyn Jenner addicted to facelifts? While there's no denying the transgender star has undergone facial reconstruction surgery, a new report claims she's still getting excessive procedures. Gossip Cop looked into the story.
"Caitlyn's Obsessed With Perfection," reads a headline in the pages of OK!. According to the tabloid, Jenner has "developed a serious addiction to facelifts since she began transitioning in 2015." The magazine alleges that "it's gotten so bad that her skin is starting to look lumpy and unnatural."
A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Caitlyn can't smile and her cheeks and chin look deformed." The outlet asserts Jenner is "going overboard," but "doesn't seem to care," even though "those close to her" are supposedly "terrified." Maintains the untraceable source, "Caitlyn keeps finding things she needs to fix... She's booking even more appointments. She doesn't know when to stop!" The alleged tipster adds, "If she doesn't stop, she could ruin her face for good."
The publication doesn't name just who is "terrified" for Jenner, or say what "things" she's trying to "fix." No specific procedures are named; there's just general talk of "facelifts." According to the Mayo Clinic, it can take up to six weeks to recover from facelift surgeries. Yet the former Olympian is regularly photographed out and about. Just last week, for example, Jenner stepped out for dinner in Hollywood. There was no evidence that she was recovering from frequent surgical procedures.
In fact, the only time in the last year that she's had noticeable work done on her face occurred in March, when Jenner shared a photo of her nose after she had skin cancer removed. Additionally, the contention that she "can't smile" is provably false. Jenner smiles quite a bit in this video she shared on Instagram just over a month ago, and she was seen smiling just this week in an Instagram Story she did with daughter Kylie.
Jenner discussed her facial feminization surgery when she made her official debut in 2015, but the claim that she's now "addicted to facelifts" is simply unsupported. A rep for the "I Am Cait" star also tells Gossip Cop on the record that the unsubstantiated tale is untrue. It's worth remembering this tabloid has also spread misinformation about her in the past.
Last year, for example, OK! claimed Jenner was secretly living near ex-wife Kris, who was supposedly guiding her career. In actuality, the former spouses have been estranged for quite some time. Also in 2017, the magazine told readers Jenner wanted to run for the California State Senate. That never happened, just as Gossip Cop rightly said it wouldn't. The outlet's reporting sure could use a lift.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
