Caitlyn Jenner is not having "cyber hookups" with people she meets online, despite a report that was seemingly made up. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the story, and expose how it's part of a pattern.
RadarOnline falsely announces in a headline, "Digital Diva! Inside Caitlyn Jenner's Secret Cyber Hookups." According to the accompanying story, the transgender star is "exploring her sexuality online and has been enjoying a string of secret cyber 'hookups.'" The article doesn't define "hookups," but implies Jenner is carrying on online romances without any offline interaction.
"Caitlyn's yet to decide on her sexual preference and is exploring all options via online trans dating sites," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying. The site's supposed source asserts she's "having fun hooking up with all kinds of people online," but is "nervous about being seen naked and paranoid about someone recognizing her."
The webloid's purported tipster further contends, "She goes online anonymously of course. She wears disguises and uses a speech decoder to alter the sound of her voice." But these assertions should sound familiar to longtime readers.
Back in 2015, Gossip Cop busted RadarOnline for a story very similar to this one. Just like now, the outlet alleged Jenner was using online dating sites, but had not actually met anyone in person. Instead, the online publication said she was keeping her identity anonymous, but "having a great time" nonetheless. More than a year and a half later, there's a new piece with the same claims, just written a little bit differently.
Gossip Cop has observed this practice on more than one occasion. For instance, the site has also repeatedly peddled untrue stories about Jenner adopting or using a surrogate. Every few months, it seems, a new version of the same basic story pops up. It makes Gossip Cop wonder if the site's writers look through its archives to see what can be recycled or, perhaps, there's a game for mixing and matching celebrities with topics.
Because it's hard to believe the webloid is genuinely getting suspiciously similar information from "insiders" again and again over a multi-year period yet that information never pans out to be true. Jenner never adopted or hired a surrogate. She never used online dating sites. And she's not engaging in "cyber hookups" now. With a rep for the Olympian confirming this latest tale is "false," just like all the others, it seems the outlet has once again been caught making up fake news.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
