Bruno Mars iHeart Tribute

Bruno Mars received the iHeartRadio Innovator Award from Big Sean at Sunday’s 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Watch below!

It was announced last month that Mars would be this year’s recipient of the award show’s highest honor. iHeartRadio chose the “megastar” for his “unparalleled contribution to popular culture and the music industry,” noting, “Over the course of his career, he has released hit after hit under his own name, has helped create chart-topping songs for other artists, and has consistently given fans some of the most incredible live performances.”

Interestingly, this year was Mars’ first time performing at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which only started in 2014. In its inaugural year, the Innovator Award was bestowed upon Pharrell. Justin Timberlake received the honor in 2015, followed by U2 in 2016.

And in addition to being the Innovator Award winner and a performer, Mars was also named a nominee for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. He was nominated in the category of Best Cover Song for “All I Ask.” While Mars co-wrote and produced the song for Adele, he also performed his own version of the track for BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge. The video now has more than 12 million views on YouTube.

The singer previously won Best Collaboration at last year’s iHeart show for “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson. Check out video of Mars’ iHeartRadio Music Awards tribute and acceptance speech below!
