Bruce Springsteen’s friends don’t fear he’s “working himself to death” by performing on Broadway five times a week, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.

The singer made his Broadway debut last month with the solo show “Springsteen on Broadway,” which will run through February. An article in the latest issue of the National Enquirer now claims the 68-year-old musician’s inner circle is worried he’s “working himself into an early grave.” A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Bruce doesn’t look like he’s in good health, and loved ones are seriously concerned he’s not taking care of himself.”

The seemingly phony insider adds, “His Broadway show is only two hours long, giving him a chance to be off his feet for a bit… But Bruce has added more dates to please his fans, which is typical. He can’t do anything by halves.” The untrustworthy outlet further contends that Springsteen “appeared to be sickly” at one of his recent performances. Gossip Cop, however, is told on background by a longtime mutual friend of ours and The Boss’ that the tabloid’s story is entirely fabricated. None of Springsteen’s friends have expressed concern about him working too much or jeopardizing his health.

As for the rocker’s alleged fragile physical condition, Springsteen was just spotted leaving a New Jersey gym looking pumped following a workout. Clearly, the singer has plenty of energy and works hard to stay in shape. Additionally, he wouldn’t have added dates if he didn’t feel he had the physical stamina to do so.

Also, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to call out the Enquirer for publishing a bogus story surrounding the singer’s well-being. Just a few weeks ago, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Springsteen is suffering memory loss simply because he uses a teleprompter during his Broadway show. There was no truth to that claim, and this latest one is equally inaccurate.
