A tabloid report claiming that Britney Spears stopped working out and has been binging on junk food is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk the claim. In fact, the singer frequently shows off her toned body on social media.

“Britney Blimps Out On Junk Food!” reads a headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article quotes an alleged insider as saying, “Britney’s cramming 3,000 calories a day down her throat. She’s inhaling fried chicken, pizza, hamburgers and chocolate, and drinking gallons of Dr. Pepper! She’s got a potbelly that she can grab with both hands!” The magazine further describes Spears as a “chunky junk food junkie,” while a supposed source adds, “She needs to get back in the gym.”

The unreliable outlet must not look at the singer’s social media accounts very often. Just a few days ago, Spears posted an Instagram photo of herself in a bikini and her stomach is completely flat. The singer has also shared several videos of herself on stage during her recent Piece of Me tour, which involved hours of strenuous dance routines on a nightly basis.

It’s possible this article was written because Spears hasn’t filmed herself in an actual gym in a while, but that doesn’t mean she’s stopped exercising. In July, Spears posted an Instagram video from one of her dance rehearsals, along with the caption, “It always amazes me how different your body looks and feels when learning new moves and creating your own routines! Doing the same things while working out can get pretty stagnant, which is why I love dancing!”

Less than a month ago, Spears shared an Instagram video of herself in an intense yoga session. “Traveling from hotel to hotel can make you a little stir crazy, so I decided to start doing 2 hours of yoga in each room!” the singer wrote in the caption. “The bare floors gave me a pretty solid grip on the ground without a mat. I was very sore the next day, but at least I got to use my time wisely.”

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the magazine’s story is “false.” Our insider also pointed out that Spears’ Instagram page discredits the tabloid’s premise.

Conclusion: There are dozens of videos proving that Spears frequently works out, despite the tabloid insisting she “needs to get back in the gym” to get in shape. There are other ways to get into shape than running on a treadmill and lifting weights, as the singer has demonstrated. This week’s photos of Spears flaunting her flat stomach in a bikini also disproves the tabloid’s claim she has a “potbelly.” It would be impossible to maintain a toned body while eating 3,000 calories of junk food per day.
