A new story about Britney Spears wanting a "wedding and a baby" is not true, Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal. While the pop star has spoken in the past about potentially getting married again and having another child, there aren't any actual plans in the works for either.
But the new edition of Life & Style claims Spears is "looking forward to a momentous 2018 with her beau," Sam Asghari. A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "She wants to marry Sam and then get pregnant." And, asserts the gossip magazine, the pop star has "lots of extra time to begin a new chapter with Sam" now that she wrapped her Las Vegas "Piece Of Me" residency on New Year's Eve.
"She feels that her life has never been as good as it is right now," claims the tabloid's supposed source, who contends, "She has a man who truly loves her, and her family is super-supportive of her and Sam's relationship." What's more is that, even though Asghari is only 23 years old, the publication's alleged tipster maintains, "Sam's on board. He actually wants more than one child with Britney."
And Spears, who has two sons from her marriage to Kevin Federline, is "hoping to add some gender equality to the household," claims the outlet, with its purported snitch stating, "She's always wanted a daughter." But it doesn't take some kind of "insider" to know that last assertion.
For years Spears has openly spoken about wanting a baby girl. "I would really like to have another baby, a girl," she told InStyle back in 2013. In addition, in 2015, Spears said she "would love" to tie the knot again, although at that time she was in a relationship with Charlie Ebersol, from whom she later split. So these claims aren't exactly revelations.
But the problem is that although Spears has expressed desires in the past for marriage and more kids, she is not actively pursuing either with Asghari. In fact, Gossip Cop is flat-out told by a member of Spears' camp that these specific claims are "wrong." So while Life & Style insists "Britney's planning to make 2018 a very special year," it's likely that specialness won't actually be coming in the form of a wedding and a baby.
It's also worth noting this same tabloid inaccurately claimed last April that Spears wanted to propose to Asghari so they could wed as soon as possible. Gossip Cop busted that report at the time, and now nearly a year later, they still aren't engaged. Maybe 2018 should be the year the magazine starts fact-checking and taking responsibility for its mistakes.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
