Britney Spears is not currently planning to have a baby with Sam Asghari, despite reports. Gossip Cop can bust the untrue reports. Though the couple is happy together, children are not on their immediate agenda.
This wave of rumors began with Us Weekly, which alleges Spears is focused on "having a baby with her beau." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Britney has talked with Sam about having babies together." The supposed source points out that the pop star was relatively young when she had her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with ex-Kevin Federline, and asserts, "She feels much more mature now."
The gossip magazine goes on to detail Spears and Asghari's relationship, such as the widely-known fact that they met through her "Slumber Party" music video, in which he starred. The alleged insider maintains, "The relationship is very serious." But while the outlet teases "secret baby plans at 36" on the cover of its issue, there's no specific "plans" mentioned in the actual article. Rather, the publication vaguely claims the couple has "talked about potentially having a baby" and "kids are a topic of conversation."
And though the aforementioned "insider" offers, "She would love to have a girl," that's not news. For years, Spears has said she'd like to have a daughter. It doesn't mean having a baby is in her imminent future. Here's what's actually coming up for the singer: Spears is going on tour across the U.S. and Europe in July and August.
There's speculation that after that concert series, she could start a new residency in Las Vegas in 2019. It's unclear where a pregnancy would fit in, or all that's involved with caring for an infant. Having and raising a baby is very time-consuming, to say the least. Apparently the Daily Mail didn't consider these factors before picking up the tabloid's claims and running with them.
"Making plans? Britney Spears would 'love to have a baby girl' with boyfriend of one year Sam Asghari," the paper contends on its website. It doesn't appear the outlet put any effort into its report aside from simply regurgitating the allegations. Gossip Cop, however, opted to take the time to investigate. And now a Spears contact stresses to us on background that the baby contentions are based on "sources," suggesting the Us Weekly story should not be interpreted as something official from her camp.
In fact, it seems like this narrative was inspired simply because Spears recently posted a tribute to Asghari on Instagram. As both publications note, she wrote earlier this month, "I've been with this man for over a year... everyday he inspires me to be a better person and that makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world!! @samasghari." There's no disputing the couple is happy, but fans shouldn't expect a baby announcement in the near future. Oh, and the accompanying photo with Spears' note about Asghari (linked above) features the singer with the tightest belly ever.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
