A new report from In Touch alleges Britney Spears is ready to marry Sam Asghari, but according to the magazine, the model “isn’t on the same page” as the singer. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

The outlet blares in a misleading headline, “Sam Warns Britney: I’m Not Ready For Marriage.” In the piece, a so-called “source” tells the publication, “Sam told her that he feels their relationship has moved way too quickly. He’s only 23 and isn’t ready for the next step yet.” The magazine’s supposed insider goes on to claim Spears was “very upset” when Asghari broke the news. “Sam loves Britney. It’s not that he doesn’t want to be with her. He just needs some time to grow up,” concludes the tabloid’s tipster.

The publication’s article, however, is wrong. Gossip Cop, understandably suspicious of In Touch’s latest story, fact-checked the report and a source close to Spears assures us it’s “not true.” The singer is not pressuring Asghari into marriage, nor is the fitness model warning Spears against taking the next step in their relationship.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has called out the magazine for seemingly fabricating stories about the singer. In September, we corrected the tabloid for wrongly claiming Spears was in the midst of a meltdown. And shortly before that untrue tale, we debunked the outlet for falsely alleging Spears was planning to adopt a baby girl. Both of those reports proved to be nothing more than fake news.

What’s more, as we previously reported, Spears threatened to sue In Touch in 2016 over a proposed story about her allegedly acting bizarre at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the time, Spears’ attorney called the magazine’s report “utterly false.” And while the latest article is not defamatory, its claim about Spears being ready for marriage but her boyfriend telling her she’s moving “way too quickly” is also untrue.
