Britney Spears never got pregnant and married, despite a report from a year ago claiming the singer had secretly wed Sam Asghari and was expecting his child. Gossip Cop exclusively debunked the story last year. Time has proven it false.

On May 10, 2017, OK! wrongly reported that Spears and Asghari had a secret wedding in Hawaii. From there, the unreliable magazine baselessly speculated the singer was carrying her boyfriend's baby as well. There was no evidence to back up either of these claims, which came from anonymous and untraceable "sources."

Shortly after the article was published, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Spears, who told us on the record that the report was "completely not true." Obviously, that remains the case 12 months later. Not only did Spears not get married and pregnant in Hawaii last May, but she hasn't reached either of those milestones in the time since.

The singer and fitness model, who've been dating since 2016, appear to have a strong relationship that's getting more serious. It's not out of the question they'll decide to walk down the aisle or start a family at some point down the line, but OK! clearly has zero insight into the situation. As for the near future, instead of tying the knot and having a baby, Spears is embarking on her international Piece of Me tour in July.

In the time since Gossip Cop busted the tabloid's nonexistent Hawaiian ceremony, the untrustworthy outlet has made up several more stories about the singer's personal life. Last December, we called out the publication for falsely claiming Spears and Asghari would have a secret wedding on New Year's Eve. Obviously, the couple rang in 2018 without getting married.

In October, Gossip Cop corrected the magazine after it wrongly reported Spears and Asgahri were opening a gym together. Clearly, no such establishment exists. OK! has a pattern of manufacturing stories about the couple, and when the premises don't pan out, the outlet moves on and comes up with a new narrative. The tabloid also pretends as if its initial storylines never existed.

It's worth noting, all of the articles mentioned above were based on information from seemingly nonexistent "insiders," while Spears' own spokesperson frequently goes on the record to tell Gossip Cop the stories aren't true. As time has shown, the singer's rep is much more reliable than the magazine's anonymous "sources."

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
