Britney Spears did NOT get a “hush-hush face lift,” despite a report from one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim.

The allegation can be found in this week’s edition of OK!, which writes, “As Britney Spears prepares to launch her ninth album, Glory, some fans have noticed that her sound isn’t the only thing that’s fresh. Lately, the 34-year-old star seems to have an entirely new look — and a source claims it’s because she quietly dropped $25,000 on a face lift!”

“She snuck off back in January, when she was on a break from her Las Vegas residency,” a so-called “source” claims. “She got rid of her jowls, had her nose tapered and lifted her eyebrows.” The alleged tipster adds, “She’d been really self-conscious about aging and felt her whole face was sagging. Now she loves what she sees in the mirror.”

As proof, the magazine says, “Britney’s face in new promotional shots looks a tad different compared with a shot” from last year. Of course, the outlet fails to mention that these professionally-taken promo photos are often photoshopped and digitally edited to make stars look their best. There’s a few other red flags in this article, too.

It’s claimed Spears had this plastic surgery done in January, yet it’s only now being reported roughly seven months later. Nothing was said, for instance, when the pop star had a high-profile performance at the Billboard Music Awards in May (see photo above), except for OK! wrongly saying Spears had Botox done, something not even mentioned here. The tabloid also now alleges Spears is “hoping the taut look will boost sales,” which makes no sense, since consumers generally don’t buy music based on how the singer looks.

Lastly, OK! even admits its allegations may be unfounded, writing, “If it’s true, you can’t argue with the results. If It’s true?! Magazines are supposed to check whether their claims are accurate BEFORE they’re published.

But since the tabloid couldn’t be bothered to fact-check, Gossip Cop did. Now a rep for Spears exclusively tell us this secret face lift story is “false.” Fans can see the singer themselves when she performs at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday. Gossip Cop will have full coverage.
