Brie Larson has been thrown into a lot of fake romances with other stars in the fantasy world of the tabloids. Gossip Cop has debunked many phony articles about the actress growing close to a male celebrity. Here are few takes on the subject that we’ve corrected.

Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted Woman’s Day for falsely claiming Larson and George Clooney got flirty while shooting a Nespresso commercial in Madrid. According to the magazine, the Captain Marvel star had “fallen for” Clooney on set, to the point where his wife Amal had some “fierce competition” coming her way. An alleged insider said Larson developed a crush on the movie star, but she should be warned that the attention she received from the married actor was “just a bit of friendly fun.”

Sources close to the situation assured Gossip Cop that Larson and Clooney didn’t have a flirtatious relationship on set, nor is the actress pursuing a married man. The two stars kept it professional and friendly, and simply shot an ad together. The unreliable outlet simply saw the opportunity to arbitrarily link the pair and create marital drama for Clooney.

In April, Gossip Cop debunked a ridiculous NW story claiming Chris Hemsworth’s wife, Elsa Pataky, believed Larson was trying to steal her husband. Like the article involving Clooney, this one also insisted Larson and her Avengers: Endgame co-star had developed a flirty relationship on set, despite the actor being married. A supposed source told the magazine that Pataky was nervous about Hemsworth traveling the globe promoting the Marvel movie alongside Larson, and even gave the actress “dirty looks” during the film’s red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.

The story was just another example of a tabloid creating a scandalous and nonexistent love triangle. A source close to the situation laughed off the premise entirely. Larson and Hemsworth are friendly, but their relationship isn’t anything more than that, and his wife never suspected there was anything going on between the pair.

And in March, Gossip Cop called out NW for creating a fake love triangle between Larson, Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan. The outlet maintained that both actors were trying to date Larson, but the story was invented simply because all three stars are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. An alleged source even remarked, “It could easily turn into a fight between Captain America and [Black Panther villain] Erik Killmonger!”

The whole scenario was based on the word of an unknown source, but Larson’s spokesperson told us on the record that it was fabricated. The actress is friendly with both Evans and Jordan, and has even collaborated with them on films outside of the Marvel universe. That doesn’t mean the two actors are battling each other for her affection. The tabloid’s storyline was almost as outlandish as the ones found in comic books.
